Hi! Our names are Ben and Ethan, and we are the co-founders of The Celiac Hack. We created this page to give people the advice and hacks we wish we had been given when we were first diagnosed with Celiac.
For us, when we were diagnosed at ages nine and ten, we didn't even know where to start. We had no idea what gluten even was, nor did we realize how much it impacted the way we ate. However, after quickly assimilating to life without gluten, we've learned a ton of ways to make navigating through this seemingly impossible diet much easier.
Tasty products, recipes, celebrities with Celiac, tips for random scenarios you may find yourself in -- we've picked up a lot over the years. Whether you were just diagnosed (and as nervous as we were), or you've been gluten free for longer than you can remember, we hope these tips and hacks help ease the stresses of your gluten-free diet.
Every month, we email a newsletter filled with all the advice, recommendations, information, and hacks we can fit into it.
In the beginning, we spent loads of time trying different gluten-free takes on the snacks and treats we used to love. We hope to save you that time, effort, and money. Rather than just recommending a couple of products in a certain category, we also include our personal rankings for versions of the same food.
We know it can sometimes be very difficult to replicate the meals and recipes you loved before Celiac. But don't worry, because in each edition of our newsletter, we'll give you some of our own tips for the kitchen, along with many of our favorite recipes.
In our experience, we've found that having Celiac is sometimes at its most difficult because of the awkward situations it brings. Maybe someone went out of their way to make something you can eat but probably cross-contaminated in the process, or maybe your friends want to go to a restaurant that you don't think has any options for you. Or maybe you're wandering a theme park where there doesn't seem to be a gluten-free snack in sight. In each newsletter, we highlight one of these scenarios (which we've both been in), and we offer our advice about how to best navigate these awkward situations.
Also, while Celiac may be lifelong for now, scientists and researchers have been working to help to create some form of a cure, so we'll be sure to keep you updated on any advancements there.
Product recommendations, advancements in the medical field, advice for awkward scenarios -- we hope our newsletter covers it all for you. To join our mailing list, click the button below.
